Twilio wanted to transform their tradeshow presence into something more than static demos and traditional lead capture. Their vision was a dynamic, interactive footprint that would pull people into the brand story — and make engagement feel like play. 

CHALLENGE

Twilio approached ASTOUND with the goal of turning their event spaces into interactive environments where every attendee action created value. They needed a scalable digital platform that would keep traffic flowing, guide attendees through different booth zones, surface key messages, and encourage deeper interaction — all while gamifying the experience. 

SOLUTION

ASTOUND built SCAVNGR, a fully customized scavenger hunt app designed to fit Twilio’s event needs. At each show, attendees were welcomed into the experience through a branded interface and a curated set of tasks, each tied to zones around the booth. From scanning QR codes to engaging with demos, every interaction was logged and rewarded — turning foot traffic into fun and data into action. We also built six unique versions of the app across Twilio’s event calendar, each tailored to audience profiles, booth layouts, and event goals. 

OUTCOME

Across eight major shows, SCAVNGR helped Twilio generate more than 4,500 qualified leads (+52% more than prior to using the app), with 42% of users completing all five tasks, and over 200 qualified and deep total engagements on average.

The experience consistently drew attendees in and kept them moving — not just through the space, but through the brand story. More than just a game, SCAVNGR became a platform for interaction that scaled effortlessly across events, proving how gamification and purposeful design can transform booth engagement into real business value.
