Nature Fresh Farms
Modular Home Build
The Nature Fresh Farms was required to upgrade the living facilities for their guest workers to properly adhere to covid-19 protocols.
The global pandemic brought on a shortage of food and of safe working conditions for farm workers. Mandated by the provincial government, Nature Fresh Farms was required to update their living facilities to accommodate safe distancing regulations. With these very specific requirements in mind, ASTOUND developed a COVID-friendly modular home that would safely house up to eight guest workers.
The housing unit was designed to include eight single beds, two full bathrooms, a dining and living area, and a fully functional kitchen. The building was fabricated as six individual modules that were then installed together on-site as a single building. We leveraged lightweight materials, such as prefabricated insulation panels, to keep the overall weight and transportation costs down while still addressing the immediate needs of the project.
